The Job Ready Program (JRP) is an employment-based skills assessment program for international student graduates with an Australian qualification. The JRP provides applicants with the opportunity to develop their skills and gain employment experience in an Australian workplace before applying to the Department of Home Affairs for a skills migration visa.
Important Information about Job ready Employment and Job ready Program from Stage 2 to Stage 4
- JRP application forms and other supporting documents must be uploaded through the TRA Online Portal.
- Skills Progress Reports (SPRs) are required six months from your JRE Start Date. TRA will email you when your SPR is due. However, if you have not yet worked a minimum of 863 hours, please do not upload your SPR until you have worked 863 hours or more.
- Ensure you register your new or additional employer as soon as possible after commencing your new employment. Your employment hours with any additional or new employers will be calculated from the date the employer’s details were registered in the TRA Online Portal.
Updated Work Hours
Your hours need to verify before they are uploaded to the portal. Work hours will only be updated once you’re SPR and/or pay evidence have been checked and approved by TRA. You will only be contacted if there are issues with the documents you have provided.
Claiming Prior Employment
If you are planning to apply for the JRE and wish to claim prior employment, you must do this at the time of submitting your online application. Please complete the relevant section of the online application form and provide all relevant supporting pay evidence with your application documents. Claims or additional evidence will not be accepted at any other time. TRA will advise you when your prior employment claim has been processed and your employment has been verified.
