Which Concurrent Trade Courses are better for Permanent Residency

Are you an international student? Are you a student who studies in Australia? Then definitely, it would be your desire to apply for permanent residency in Australia. But it is not as easy as it sounds. There are certain industries and occupations you as an international student have to consider. With good employment, you require certain sets of skills that are in demand of the Australian Labor Market. Through that, your dream for permanent residency in Australia can come true.

There is Australia’s Skill Needs list and have certain categories in it that can guide you thoroughly. Through that list, you can evaluate the study path you have chosen matches or clashes with the career path you desire to lead. That career path can translate the chances of obtaining permanent residency status for you.

The MLTSSL (Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List)

has a complete list of occupations that can be considered by an international student. The list highlights those professions and career paths that are in demand in Australia and can help you in qualifying for a permanent Australian Visa.

The STSOL (Short-Term Skilled Occupation List)

is another list of occupations and professions that can help an international student. This list has complete information regarding the courses that can guide in short-term visa processing for about 2 to 4 years. This confirms that through STSOL courses, an international student can get a temporary or short-term visa to stay in Australia, whereas, the MLTSSL can help in permanent residency in Australia that will last forever, as per rules applied.

Today we are going to help you find better concurrent trade courses an international student can pursue to obtain permanent residency status in Australia. This list includes many occupations in leading industries that include childcare, construction, automotive and hospitality.

What are Concurrent Courses and What does Concurrent means?

As per the ESOC Act, International students are allowed to undertake additional courses as same time when you doing your actual principal course for which they have got the student visa. Concurrent course must be a registered CRICOS. COE (Confirmation of enrolment) must be issued for additional study. A student on a student visa who is seeking to undertake additional study should be aware of the requirements of their student visa and the need to:

  • remain enrolled in a registered course
  • achieve satisfactory course attendance, and
  • progress in their principal course of study

The benefit of Concurrent Course(s):

If you are enrolled in a course that doesn’t lead to Permanent residency like a business, management, etc. A concurrent course like trade courses leads to Permanent residency and you can avail great pathways to stay and live in Australia. You can study both your principal course along with the trade course so that you pursue greatly to a comprehensive PR Pathway so that after getting the TR 485 Post Study work or Graduate stream, you would have both options available to apply for Permanent residency.
