Think Higher Consultants

Ever wondered how so many people successfully immigrate to Canada? It often comes down to programs like Express Entry. However, finding clear information online can be tough, leading to missed opportunities as time goes by.

At Think Higher Consultants, we simplify the Canadian Express Entry Program, making it easier for you to understand and succeed. Let’s get started!

What is Canada Express Entry Program?

Express Entry is Canada’s system for welcoming skilled workers from around the globe who wish to move to Canada. It targets professionals with foreign work experience seeking to work in Canada. As a key program for attracting top talent internationally, Express Entry is one of the most popular immigration pathways worldwide.

How Does It Work?

Express Entry is a points-based system used by Canada to select skilled workers from around the world. It evaluates applicants based on various factors, including age, work experience, and language proficiency.

Here’s a breakdown of how the system works:

  1. Initial Evaluation (Federal Skilled Worker Program – FSW): Your profile is assessed out of 100 points based on:

    • Language Skills (28 points): High IELTS scores can earn you more points.
    • Education (25 points): More education translates to higher points.
    • Work Experience (15 points): Relevant work experience adds to your points.
    • Age (12 points): Younger applicants (18-35) get more points.
    • Arranged Employment (10 points): A valid Canadian job offer boosts your points.
    • Adaptability (10 points): Factors like Canadian work experience and education can increase your score.

To enter the Express Entry pool, you need at least 67 out of 100 points.

  2. Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS): Once in the pool, your profile is ranked out of 1,200 points based on:

    • Core Human Capital (500 points for individual applicants; 460 + 40 for those with a spouse/partner)
    • Skill Transferability (100 points)
    • Additional Factors (600 points): Includes job offers, Canadian education, provincial nominations, language skills, and having a sibling in Canada.

French-speaking applicants may earn extra points.

  3. Invitation to Apply: Applicants with higher CRS scores receive invitations to apply for permanent residence. Invitations are sent out approximately every 60 days, based on the scores of those in the pool.

Process – Step by Step:

If you’re having trouble understanding the Express Entry process, here’s a detailed guide to help you through:

Step 1 – Check Eligibility: First, confirm whether you meet the criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. To be eligible, you must score at least 67 out of 100 points based on factors such as language skills, education, work experience, age, arranged employment, and adaptability.

Step 2 – Gather Documentation: Prepare all the necessary documents required for your application. This typically includes educational certificates, proof of work experience, language test results, and other relevant documents that verify your qualifications and background.

Step 3 – Submit Your Profile: Once you have your documents ready, create and submit your Express Entry profile to the Canadian government. If you meet the eligibility requirements, your profile will be added to a pool of candidates competing for an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

Step 4 – Apply for Permanent Residence: If your profile’s CRS score is higher than the minimum score set in the latest draw, you’ll receive an invitation to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence. You must submit your complete application within 60 days of receiving the invitation.

Although the process might seem simple, small errors can lead to application refusals and reduce your chances of immigrating successfully. At Think Higher Consultants, we specialize in guiding applicants through each step to ensure a smooth and successful immigration process.
