General Skilled Migration
189 VISA (Skilled Independent Visa)
A skilled independent visa is a point-based permanent visa, to be eligible, the applicant does not require to be nominated by an employer, state or territory, or a family member, but must meet point-based criteria of age, skills, occupation, English language etc.

190 VISA (Skilled Nominated Visa)
The skilled nomination visa is a Point-Based permanent residency visa focused on professional skill workers. you need a sponsor for this visa. an applicant has to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to the Department of Home Affairs. After submission, the applicant will be issued points based on their application. The candidates with the required ranking will be invited to apply for the 190 visa.

State Requirements:
191 VISA (Skilled Regional PR)
The 191 visa is a permanent residence visa that is designed to allow the temporary visa holder on a provisional 491, or 494 visa to get a permanent residency in Australia.

491 VISA (Skilled Work Regional TR)
The Skilled Work Regional visa is for skilled workers who want to live and work in regional Australia, The visa will be a grant for 5 years However, After working for 3 years in the regional area an applicant can apply for a permanent residency visa.

- live, work and study in a designated region of Australia
- travel to and from Australia while the visa is valid.
- apply for permanent residence after three years, if eligible

- Additional 15 points will be granted to applying for a 491 visa.

State / Territory Requirements
494 VISA (Skilled Employer-Sponsored TR)
The Skilled Employer-Sponsored visa is a provisional residency visa that allows you to study, work or stay in a Designated Regional Area in Australia (Except Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) for up to 5 years
The Skilled Employer-Sponsored subclass 494 visa holders are unable to make a valid application for subclass 820 (Partner Visa) or also unable to be granted the following visa:
- Subclass 132 (Business Talent)
- Subclass 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme)
- Subclass 188 (Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional))
- Subclass 189 (Skilled (Independent))
- Subclass 190 (Skilled (Nominated))
- Subclass 858 (Distinguished talent)
887 VISA (Skilled Regional Visa)
The skilled regional visa is a pathway to Permanent Residency for the visa holders of the following subclasses; 489 visas, 495 visas, 475 visas, and 487 visas.

Eligibility Criteria
- applicant must be in Australia to apply
- must have held one of the following visas for at least two years before lodging the application:
- Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489)
- Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 495)
- Skilled Regional Sponsored visa (subclass 475)
- Skilled Regional Sponsored (subclass 487)
- Bridging visa A, or B.
- must have lived in the regional area of Australia for 2 years or more, or has lived in a designated area of Australia
- must have at least 12 months of work experience in a full-time job
- meet the health and character requirement.
Employer-Sponsored Visa
186 VISA (Employer Nomination Visa)
Employer Nomination Visa is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers that allows you to work and live in Australia indefinitely, The 186 visa is a pathway for the permanent residency for the 457 visas, and 482 visa holders.
Requirement.
- must be under 45 years of age
- need a nomination by sponsoring employee.
- have skills listed in the skilled occupation list
- competent English language requirement.
- meet the Health requirement.
- meet the Character requirement.
- sign the Australian values statement.
- not have any previous debt to Australia
- not have rejected or refused by DHA previously
482 VISA (Temporary Skill Shortage)
A temporary skill shortage visa is a replacement of 457 visas which is announced in March 2018 by the Department of Home Affairs, The TSS visa is a temporary residence visa that allows to work and stay in Australia full-time.
Requirements
- The applicant must have a minimum work experience of 2 years in the required occupation.
- The applicant must hold a sanctioned nomination by a licensed sponsor.
- Applicant should have done any skill assessment.
- Applicant should prove the English Language Proficiency Requirements.
- Must fulfil the health and character requirements.
- The applicant has to meet the other additional requirement or conditions which should be applicable to lodge your visa application
- Fulfil the individual specific requirement of all three individual streams.
- The applicant has to fulfil the requirement of GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) ONLY FOR SHORT-TERM STREAM.
494 VISA (Employer Regional Sponsored)
The Employer Regional Sponsored Visa is a provisional residency visa that allows the applicant to study, work or stay in a Designated Regional Area in Australia (Except Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) for up to 5 years.
Requirements
- must age under 45
- Competent English Langauge Proficiency.
- full-time work experience in the nominated occupation for at least 3 years
- casual work will not be considered as a work experience
- if applying within Australia, must hold a substantive or Bridging Visa.

Other Visas
Parent Visa
There are three Subclasses of visas for partners available.
- Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300) for a fiance
- Partner Visa Offshore (subclass 309 and 100) To apply overseas
- Partner Visa Onshore (subclass 820 and 801) To apply in Australia
Basic Requirements of Partner Visas:
- meet the relationship requirement
- must have a sponsor.
- must be the age of 18 or older
- Meet the Health and Character requirement.

Parent Visas
Australia has both temporary parent visas and permanent parent visas options for your parents, Parent visa allows parents to permanently or temporarily migrate and join their children in Australia. However, there are a number of factors that determine whether your parents qualify for this visa or not.

- The amount of time sponsoring a child has been living or lived in Australia.

AAT Appeals – MRT & RRT
