Available Intakes For Professional Year In Engineering
Engineering professionals deliver intakes throughout the year from 1 January to 31 December.
Multiple accredited providers, including Albright Institute, Indus Institute, and NIT Australia, offer Professional Year programs throughout Australia in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, and Adelaide. Apply early as places are strictly limited.
Program Essentials
When applying for the Professional Year in Engineering, you will typically need the following essentials.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering completed within 4 years of application.
- Minimum of 2 years (94 weeks) of study completed at an Australian university or equivalent AQF level, with relevant academic transcripts provided (including overseas engineering qualifications if applicable)
- Hold a Temporary Graduate visa (485), Skilled Recognised Graduate visa (476), or eligible Bridging Visa A/C with at least 12 months validity remaining from the program start date.
- Full-time work rights in Australia for the 12-week internship placement.
- English Proficiency: IELTS 6.0 in each band OR PTE Academic overall 50 with no communicative skill below 50 OR TOEFL equivalent (results must be current and within acceptable standards).
- A Positive Skills Assessment from Engineers Australia.
- Meet all Department of Home Affairs character and health requirements.
- 100% attendance commitment for the 32-week classroom training component.

1. Certified Copies Required
- Submit certified copies of all supporting documents for EEA Professional Year application.
- Certification must occur in Australia within three months before submission.
2. Authorized Certifiers
- Use Justices of the Peace, lawyers (name specified), or Commissioners for Oaths.
- Certifier sights original and confirms exact match with copy.
3. Single-Page Certification
- Write or stamp: ‘Certified true copy of original as sighted by me’.
- Include certifier’s signature and certification date.
4. Multi-Page Certification
- First page: ‘I certify this and [number] following pages as true copies’.
- Initial should be on all pages; add name, occupation, phone, optional address.
5. Mandatory Certification Details
- Each page requires a signature, date, printed name or stamp with contacts.
- Passports, transcripts, IELTS need certification within 3 months.
