General Skilled Migration Overview

Australia’s General Skilled Migration (GSM) program is designed for skilled workers who want to live and work in Australia permanently or temporarily based on their qualifications, occupation, and work experience. This migration pathway helps Australia fill skill shortages by inviting qualified professionals from different industries. Applicants are generally assessed based on age, education, work experience, English language ability, and occupation demand in Australia. The General Skilled Migration program includes multiple visa pathways for independent applicants, state nominated workers, and regional skilled migrants.
