Professional Year In Australia – Information Technology
The Professional Year in Australia – IT Program is a valuable pathway for international graduates who have completed an Australian Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or an overseas equivalent. This program is designed to provide graduates with practical skills, knowledge, and experience in the Australian IT industry, enhancing their employability and potential to secure permanent residency in Australia. The program is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), which is the professional association for the Australian ICT sector.
The IT Program is delivered by accredited providers and consists of a combination of classroom-based learning, practical training, and an internship placement in an Australian company. Participants will gain essential workplace skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, as well as developing an understanding of Australian workplace culture and professional standards. The internship component of the program provides participants with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field, build a professional network, and establish valuable industry connections. Successful completion of the program will also give participants five additional points towards their permanent residency application through the Department of Home Affairs.

The Professional Year Engineering Program is of total 44 weeks(minimum) which is divided into the following:

Eligibility Criteria
- Completion of an Australian Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or an overseas equivalent
- A valid visa that allows study in Australia
- A minimum overall score of 6 in each band of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent test
- Meeting the character and health requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs
- Applying for the program within two years of completing a degree in IT
- Meeting any additional requirements set by individual program providers
