Education And Migration Consultant Adelaide

Think Higher Consultants helps international students, graduates, skilled professionals and families make informed decisions about studying, working and settling in Adelaide.

With more than 11 years of experience, our education consultants support course selection, university applications and student visa preparation. Where migration advice is required, our MARA agents assist with skilled migration, employer sponsorship, family visas and permanent residence pathways.

Each application is reviewed against the client’s background, eligibility and goals before a suitable direction is recommended. We also help prepare supporting documents and explain relevant education and immigration requirements.

Important Update

Trade Course Restrictions

From 1 July 2026, South Australia began enforcing apprenticeship requirements for international students undertaking certain declared trade qualifications through institutional training.

International students who enrolled in an affected institutional trade course before 1 July 2026 can continue their studies. New students may need to complete the qualification through a formal apprenticeship pathway to receive a recognised trade certificate.

Their visa conditions must also allow them to enter the required training contract. The restriction does not apply to every vocational qualification, so the exact course should be checked against the South Australian Traineeship and Apprenticeship Pathways Schedule before enrolment.

FAQs

Education And Migration Consultant Adelaide FAQs

Is Adelaide Considered a Regional Area?

Yes. Adelaide is classified as a Category 2 designated regional area for relevant migration programs. Eligibility for regional benefits still depends on the specific visa requirements.

Do I Need a Skills Assessment for Skilled Migration?

Usually, yes. Points-tested skilled visas such as the 190 and 491 generally require a suitable skills assessment for the nominated occupation before an applicant can be invited to apply.

Can My Partner Join Me on a Student Visa?

An eligible partner may be included in the original Student visa application or apply later as a subsequent entrant. Partners and dependent children should still be declared in the initial application, even when they do not plan to travel to Australia at the same time.

Can I Apply to Study in Adelaide From Overseas?

Yes. Overseas applicants may apply to a CRICOS-registered Adelaide institution and then prepare a Student visa application after receiving the required Confirmation of Enrolment.

Can I Apply for a Student Visa While Holding a Visitor Visa?

Visitor visa holders cannot lodge a Student visa application while in Australia. They may need to apply from outside Australia, subject to their circumstances and visa history.
