Think Higher Support

How Think Higher Can Help With Your AAHE Application

Think Higher can help you put together the right AAHE application, from choosing the level of study through to offer, CoE and Student visa preparation.

01

Choose the Right Cybersecurity Pathway

We look at your previous qualification, English, IT background and work experience before deciding whether the best starting point is Bachelor, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master.

For experienced applicants, this is particularly important because previous qualifications and relevant work may reduce the length of the Master of Cybersecurity.

02

Prepare the Admission File

We can help organise passport, academic documents, English evidence, CV, certified translations and credit-transfer documents where relevant.

03

Offer & CoE Support

After assessment, we can help you understand the offer conditions, tuition, credit granted and payment requirements before moving to the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) stage.

04

Student Visa Support

Once the CoE is available, Think Higher can assist separately with the Student visa application, Genuine Student requirements, OSHC and supporting documents.

Master Entry Routes

The Master Can Be Shorter for Some Applicants

The standard Master of Cybersecurity is two years, but AAHE can offer shorter entry routes depending on prior study and relevant work experience.

2 years

Bachelor degree or 6 years relevant experience

1.5 years

Bachelor + 2 years relevant experience, or Bachelor + Graduate Certificate

1 year

Honours degree, Bachelor + Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor + 4 years relevant experience

This can make previous qualifications and professional experience important before the application is lodged.

Think Higher can help you identify which entry route your profile may support.

Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

Bachelor of Cybersecurity

Year 12 or recognised pathway

Applicants generally need to be 18+ and have completed Year 12 or another recognised tertiary/foundation pathway.

IELTS 6.0 across the test and each component, or an accepted equivalent such as PTE.

Postgraduate Courses

Tertiary study or experience

Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master applicants can qualify through previous tertiary study or, in some cases, documented professional experience.

The postgraduate English benchmark is generally IELTS 6.5 overall, with each skill at 6.0 or higher, or equivalent.

Students slightly below direct English entry may also be considered with an approved EAP pathway, subject to AAHE’s requirements.

Study Locations

Study in Melbourne or Brisbane

All of AAHE’s current cybersecurity programs are offered in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Melbourne

West Melbourne

The campus is in West Melbourne, within walking distance of Melbourne CBD, Flagstaff Gardens and Queen Victoria Market, with easy access to public transport.

Brisbane

Woolloongabba

The Brisbane campus is in Woolloongabba, close to the busway and the Gabba precinct, with quick transport connections to Brisbane CBD.

Campus Life

What Is Campus Life Like?

AAHE’s classrooms are designed around collaborative cybersecurity learning rather than traditional lecture-only teaching.

Smart classroom displaysCampus Wi-FiDigital library resourcesOnline learning systemsInformal study areasCollaborative learning spacesLoan laptops where available

The Brisbane campus also provides a student kitchen and dedicated spaces for study or breaks.

Because the programs involve practical technical work, students are expected to have their own suitable laptop for classes and cybersecurity activities.

Accommodation

Accommodation Near AAHE

AAHE does not advertise its own on-campus hostel or student residence. Students normally arrange private student accommodation or shared housing.

Melbourne

AAHE points students toward commercial student accommodation in and around the CBD. Shared housing is generally the cheaper option, with AAHE estimating rooms at around $175–$400 per week, excluding utilities.

Brisbane

Student apartments are available around Brisbane CBD, South Brisbane and Kangaroo Point. Shared rooms or houses around areas such as Coorparoo, Greenslopes and Annerley are estimated by AAHE at roughly $200–$400 per week, excluding utilities.

Think Higher can also guide students on what to consider when planning accommodation before arrival.

2026 Academic Calendar

When Can You Start?

AAHE uses several teaching periods during the year rather than one simple February/July intake model.

Its 2026 academic calendar includes course commencements across March, May and July, with further teaching periods scheduled through the academic year.

The next available intake should be checked against the course and campus before applying.

Previous Study

Credit for Previous Study

Students with previous tertiary study may be able to receive credit where prior learning matches AAHE course content.

International applicants should ideally submit the credit request together with the admission application so the offer and remaining study duration reflect the assessment.

This can be particularly useful for applicants moving from previous IT or cybersecurity study into an AAHE program.

Professional Recognition

Professional Accreditation: An Important Point

AAHE’s Bachelor and Master of Cybersecurity are TEQSA-accredited higher education courses.

However, AAHE currently states that these programs are seeking professional accreditation from the Australian Computer Society (ACS). They should therefore not yet be described as ACS-accredited.

That distinction matters when comparing professional recognition between cybersecurity programs.

Student Support

Student Support

AAHE also provides support to students who are struggling academically or becoming disengaged from study.
