Profile Review
We review your academic background, English, previous study and intended career direction before selecting the course and major.
Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT) is an Australian higher education provider established in 1996, with a strong focus on business, accounting, networking, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence and research.
Its programs are designed around practical learning, industry projects and smaller-class teaching across its Melbourne and Sydney campuses.
MIT’s international admission process can involve more than academic documents. The correct application route can depend on where you are applying from and your current visa status.
We review your academic background, English, previous study and intended career direction before selecting the course and major.
MIT offers specialised streams across accounting, business analytics, cybersecurity, software engineering, cloud networking, AI and project management.
We help organise academic records, English evidence, visa history, employment or study-gap evidence and credit-transfer documents where required.
MIT may request Genuine Student responses, document verification, financial evidence or an interview before issuing a CoE.
We help check the course, campus, intake, fees and offer conditions before acceptance, payment and Confirmation of Enrolment.
After admission, Think Higher can assist with the separate Student visa process, including GS responses, CoE and OSHC review and supporting visa documents.
MIT’s current course portfolio is concentrated in business, accounting, networking, analytics, artificial intelligence and research.
General English and English for Academic Purposes can support students who need further language preparation before academic study, subject to package and admission requirements.
The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Telecommunications) and Master of Engineering (Telecommunications) are in teach-out and should not be selected as current admission options.
MIT charges international tuition per trimester, so total course cost depends on the number of study periods completed and any future annual fee changes.

Entry standards depend on the course rather than one institute-wide score.
Applicants generally need Australian Year 12 or a recognised equivalent, plus any course-specific academic prerequisites. English is usually IELTS 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent.
A recognised bachelor degree or equivalent is generally required. English varies by program and should be checked against the selected course.
Master of Networking: IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5. Data and Business Analytics programs are around IELTS 6.0 with course-specific components. Master of Professional Accounting: IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0.
Master of Business Research and Master of ICT Research generally require a recognised bachelor or master-level qualification and IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent.
MIT also accepts recognised alternatives such as PTE Academic and TOEFL, subject to course-specific minimum scores.
Both campuses deliver major business, networking and data programs, although course availability should still be checked for the intended intake.

Professional accreditation is particularly relevant for MIT’s accounting and technology programs.
Bachelor of Networking and its Cybersecurity and Software Engineering majors are accredited by the Australian Computer Society at Professional Level.
Bachelor of Data Analytics and Master of Business Analytics are ACS-accredited at Professional Level.
Accounting programs include professional recognition through bodies such as CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, depending on the qualification.
Professional membership or migration outcomes remain subject to the relevant professional body and immigration requirements.
MIT offers several scholarships, but they apply to different student groups rather than one universal discount.
A particularly relevant current option is the Second and Third-Year Undergraduate Scholarship. Eligible international students who commenced in 2025 or 2026 and complete their first year can receive a one-unit fee waiver each trimester, equivalent to a 25% tuition reduction, for the remainder of the course.
MIT also offers merit and progression scholarships subject to separate eligibility requirements.
MIT allows Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning where previous study or experience matches the new program.
Credit should ideally be assessed before or around enrolment, because approved credit can affect course duration and the study plan.
MIT states that complete applications submitted through an authorised agent are generally assessed within approximately 2–5 working days, although additional verification or GS assessment can extend the process.
Not under MIT’s current international application rules. Offshore applicants must apply through an MIT-authorised education agent in their country of residence.
