Registered Migration Agent For Perth Clients

Aneel Khowaja is an OMARA Registered Migration Agent with MARN 1571699. The official register currently lists his status as registered and identifies Think Higher Pty Ltd as his associated business.

A Registered Migration Agent can assess visa options, explain relevant requirements, prepare supporting documents, communicate with the Department of Home Affairs and assist with visa or review matters.

Your circumstances are reviewed before a pathway is recommended. This may include your age, occupation, qualifications, work experience, English level, visa history, family situation and long-term plans.

Before You Lodge

Do Not Treat A Visa Pathway As Automatic

Perth may be relevant to regional skilled and employer-sponsored options, but regional classification alone does not make an applicant eligible.

The occupation, skills assessment, sponsor or employer, points, EOI, documents and visa history still need to be checked before a decision is made.

Migration Services For Perth And WA

Migration Services For Perth And WA

Choose the visa direction carefully. A good review checks eligibility, documents and risk before the application or EOI is submitted.

Skilled Migration Advice

Advice may cover Subclass 189, WA-nominated Subclass 190, family or State-sponsored Subclass 491, skills assessments, EOI preparation, points and occupation requirements. We check that the occupation, skills assessment, EOI and visa pathway align. A positive skills assessment does not guarantee nomination or an invitation.

WA State Nomination

We assess possible eligibility for WA Subclass 190 and 491 nomination. Subclass 190 provides five nomination points, while Subclass 491 provides 15. The review may include occupation lists, General or Graduate Stream eligibility, English, work experience, skills assessment, EOI points, invitation priorities and supporting evidence.

Employer-Sponsored Visas

Support may be available for Subclass 482, 186, 494 and WA DAMA pathways. Because Perth is a designated regional area for relevant programs, eligible employers may use Subclass 494. We review the employer, position, occupation, salary, work experience, skills assessment and intended visa pathway.

Partner Visa Support

We assist with onshore and offshore partner visa applications. The review may cover sponsor eligibility, marriage or de facto evidence, shared finances, household responsibilities, social recognition, long-term commitment, previous sponsorships and visa history.

Why Migration Planning Is Different In Perth

Why Migration Planning Is Different In Perth

Regional Migration Options

Perth is treated as a designated regional area for relevant skilled migration programs. This can make Perth relevant to Subclass 491 and Subclass 494 pathways, even though Perth is a major Australian capital city. The regional classification does not automatically make a person eligible. The occupation, sponsorship, skills assessment, points and other visa requirements must still be met.

Family-Sponsored Subclass 491

An eligible relative who usually lives in Perth may be able to sponsor a family member for Subclass 491 because Perth is within a designated regional area. The sponsor generally needs to be at least 18 and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. The family sponsorship can provide 15 points where Home Affairs accepts the sponsorship.

WA EOI And Invitation Strategy

Lodging an EOI does not mean an applicant will receive an invitation. Under the latest published WA settings, applicants residing in Western Australia are ranked ahead of interstate and offshore applicants. WA may then consider the occupation sector, qualification, EOI points and EOI submission date.

More Than A 65-Point Check

WA EOI And Invitation Strategy

Sixty-five points may meet the minimum points-test requirement, but invitation outcomes can depend on the wider profile.

Review AreaWhy It Matters
Occupation

It must be available for the intended WA stream and visa.

Skills Assessment

It must match the occupation used in the EOI.

WA Residence

Current WA residents may receive invitation priority.

Industry Sector

Some sectors may receive priority.

EOI Points

Higher points can improve ranking.

EOI Date

Earlier EOIs may rank ahead where other factors are equal.

Visa Subclass

Subclass 190 and 491 have different points and conditions.

Selecting Both 190 And 491

Where an EOI requests both Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 nomination, WA states that the applicant will generally be invited for Subclass 491 first because it usually produces a higher EOI points score.

An applicant does not receive multiple WA invitations through the same EOI. If an invitation lapses, is declined or withdrawn, a new EOI may be required.

Invitation Deadlines

Under the latest published process, an invited applicant has 28 calendar days to submit the WA State nomination application.

After WA nomination and a Home Affairs invitation, the applicant generally has 60 days to lodge the visa application. Documents should therefore be prepared before an invitation is received.

WA Employment Contract Checks

WA Employment Contract Checks

Some WA State nomination applicants may need a suitable employment contract. Under the latest published criteria, the employment-contract requirement does not apply to Subclass 491 applicants. Certain applicants invited through WA building and construction occupations may also be exempt.

  • Employment in the nominated or closely related occupation
  • At least six months of qualifying employment
  • An average of at least 35 hours per week
  • Suitable salary and employment conditions
  • The work location and position duties
  • Signatures from the employer and employee

Two part-time contracts may be combined to meet the hours requirement. Casual contracts are not accepted, and independent contractor or self-employment arrangements generally do not meet the current contract rules.

WA DAMA Options

WA DAMA Options For Perth Employers

The Western Australian Designated Area Migration Agreement is available to eligible businesses operating in metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia. The WA DAMA may allow approved employers to access occupations or concessions through employer-sponsored pathways connected with Subclass 482, 494 and 186.

  • The employer’s operating location
  • Whether the occupation is available for metropolitan Perth
  • The intended visa subclass
  • Skills assessment requirements
  • Salary and English concessions
  • Employer endorsement and labour agreement steps

A worker cannot independently access the DAMA without an eligible employer completing the endorsement and labour agreement process.
